FSA Bike Parts
Full Speed Ahead, or more often known as FSA is an Italian manufacturer
of bicycle components for road, bmx and cross-country bikes. They
specialize in bottom brackets and cranksets, handlebars and headsets,
and high end wheels. Their particular expertise is in the use of
carbon fiber construction to make a line of some of the lightest
and strongest bike parts available in the industry.
Brand Name Groupings:
K-Force Group:A line of Hollow Carbon formed bicycle
components and ceramic cartridge bearings: K-Force Light Cranksets,
handlebars, stems, seatposts and saddles, using hollow carbon fiber
construction to create the K-Force line of bike parts with the highest
strengths and lightest weights within FSA's entire catalog of bicycle
parts.
SL-K: FSA SL-K carbon cranks are similar to the K-force
light but uses an inernal I-beam reinforcement to create the strength
characteristics demanded at a lesser cost. This groupset includes
seatposts, handlebars, seatposts and saddles
Gravity: a cheaper, and older line of FSA bicycle parts,
You can still see online some sales of 3 piece crankarms in the
$50 range vs. their $300-$600 SL-K and K-Force Cranksets.
Vision: FSA line of aerobars, and matching levers for road
racing
New FSA Bike Part Technology
Ceramic Bearings: FSA is the first to incorporate ceramic
bearings in their bike parts. They combine ceramic ball bearings
with high tech lubricants and seals to offer longer life and greater
speed as a result of the reduced bearing drag.
Hollow Carbon Fabrication: Traditional bicycle part
fabricators are force to include some internal structure in their
carbon fibre cranks (carbon, aluminun or foam). Full Speed Ahead
has succeeded in creating a totally emply crank with new Hollow
Carbon technology to produce the new FSA K-force light crank , the
lightest crank on the market.
Warranty:
"Full Speed Ahead (FSA) warrants all FSA, Gravity, VisionTech,
and RPM products to be free from defects in materials or workmanship
to the original purchaser that is non-transferable, for a period
of two years after original purchase; unless otherwise noted below."
With some bicycle parts like their Orbit Xtreme and Orbit Xtreme
Pro headset models guaranteed for ten years.
That being said, like most bicycle component manufacturers, FSA
does not cover any bicycle parts that are bent or damaged at junction
points that have experienced undue stress from improper or unorthodox
use. Well that probably cuts out most of us since we tend to test
our Bike parts to the limit. :)
