FSA: K-Force Light Crank
Construction:
The
K-force group includes a monocoque carbon crankset: using their
newest hollow carbon construction technology. It creates a completely
hollow crank arm with a distinctive "thatched" or woven
appearance and high gloss finish.
These FSA cranksets have chainrings fabricated out of AL7075
using full CNC technology for added accuracy, with a black face
and a silver lasered logo. Even the chainring bolts are an AL7075
Torx T-30 alloy on the FSA K-force light crank to create the ultimate
light weight carbon crankset.
Bottom
Bracket:
The BB, to match this FSA power drive crank arm is equally impressive.
It uses oversized ceramic bearings and an integrated 24mm CrMo Spindle.
This is what differentiates the "K-Force LIGHT Crank"
from the regular K-force crank.
Research into the use of ceramic bearings suggests a 5 to 10
times longer life expectancy than its steel bearing cousin typical
of most bb. FSA's ceramic bearings allow greater power at the
drive crank arm with the use of special lubricants and low friction
seals to reduce rolling resistance. This is the biggest different
between the K-Force light crank and their cheaper SL-K line of
FSA cranksets.
Red anodized alloy external bearing cups hold it all in place.
